Driver eligibility
The primary driver and every approved additional driver must be 21–75 years old, hold a current valid driver licence and satisfy the experience and identity requirements shown during booking.

Rental terms

This page is a general summary. The complete Rental Agreement presented for your booking contains the binding terms and takes precedence if there is any difference.
Booking and payment
A vehicle is not reserved until the required rental payment is confirmed. An unpaid booking may expire after the displayed payment-hold period. Prices and the applicable security bond are shown before payment.
Identity and agreement
The renter must complete identity verification and electronically sign the Rental Agreement before vehicle release. BusyHornet Rentals may decline release when verification or pre-rental requirements are incomplete.
Security bond
The security bond is normally placed as a card authorisation. After return inspection it may be released, or some or all of it may be captured where permitted by the Rental Agreement, including for damage, loss, cleaning, fuel, tolls, fines or other outstanding charges.
Vehicle use
Only approved drivers may drive the vehicle. The vehicle must be used lawfully, kept secure and operated within the locations, mileage limits and other conditions contained in the Rental Agreement. Accidents, damage, theft, warning lights and breakdowns must be reported promptly.
Collection and return
The vehicle is released only after the handover checks are complete. It must be returned at the agreed time and place, with its keys and the agreed fuel level and condition. BusyHornet Rentals records vehicle condition and odometer information at handover and return.
Changes and cancellations
Contact BusyHornet Rentals as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel a booking. Any refund, cancellation charge or date change depends on the booking stage, costs already incurred and the Rental Agreement that applies to the booking.
Mileage allowance
The standard allowance is 200 kilometres per rental day, calculated over your rental period. Extra distance costs $0.35 per kilometre unless a waiver has been approved in writing and recorded in your Rental Agreement.
Damage cover and excess
Standard Damage Cover is included in the rental charges, subject to the Rental Agreement's conditions and exclusions. A Damage Excess may apply to each accident or theft claim. Confirm the applicable amount with our team before payment. The security bond is separate and does not limit your liability.
Fines, tolls and charges
The renter is responsible for applicable tolls, parking charges, traffic infringements and other costs arising from use of the vehicle, together with any administration fee permitted by the Rental Agreement.
