How BusyHornet Rentals handles the information needed to provide a safe and accountable rental service.
We collect information needed to assess and manage a rental, including your name, contact details, residential address, date of birth, driver licence details, booking details, signed agreement, payment references and vehicle handover or return records.
We use personal information to provide quotes and bookings, verify driver eligibility and identity, process payments and bond authorisations, communicate with you, manage vehicle safety and condition, respond to incidents, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Stripe processes card payments, security bond authorisations and identity verification. BusyHornet Rentals receives transaction and verification outcomes but does not need to store your complete card number. Stripe handles information under its own privacy practices.
We use carefully selected providers to operate the booking service, including Supabase for database and file storage, Stripe for payments and identity, Resend for transactional email and Vercel for website hosting. Information is shared only as needed to provide those services or meet legal requirements.
We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand use of our public website. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes device and usage information through Google, which may process information overseas. We exclude booking, payment, agreement and administrator pages from website analytics, remove URL query strings and fragments, and do not send customer names, contact details, licence details or booking references as analytics fields. Google advertising signals and ad personalisation are disabled. We honour your browser's Do Not Track setting for Google Analytics. Handover and return photos, odometer readings, fuel levels and condition reports may be retained as evidence of the vehicle's condition and to support safety, maintenance, insurance, payment or dispute processes.
We use access controls, protected administrator accounts, encrypted connections and restricted server credentials. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, so access is limited to information reasonably required for rental operations.
We keep records only for as long as reasonably required for rental administration, accounting, insurance, safety, dispute handling and legal obligations. Records that are no longer required are deleted or de-identified where practical.
You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you or to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
